Whenever Norman and I visited, Richard always gave us a warm and friendly welcome. He loved to chat and always had a ready supply of yarns to regale us with.
Young friends of the family were quickly made to feel at home. Apart from his family, his love was for his animals, especially his dogs and cats. His greatest pet was his Jack Russell, Toby and he never went anywhere without him. We all thought that, when Toby died, Richard would go to pieces, but he withstood his dog's passing with great fortitude.
He loved Christmas when the family could be together and he always made it his job to cook the turkey, putting it in the oven at 2am, so as to give it a long slow cook.
Sadly Richard suffered much sickness and pain in his later years, which meant he was unable to go far for too long, but he enjoy his caravan weekends and holidays away.
I rarely heard him complain about his pain and discomfort.
He will be sadly missed.

A loving husband and I am missing you already. You enjoyed your fishing and being in the caravan with family and friends. You loved your dogs and mine as well. We know were in alot of pain for many years, but now have been relieved from pain.
We never forget all the good memories and fun we had together.
Rest in peace.
Love you
